
Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson was born on July 10, 1980. [1] She is an American actor, singer and an entrepreneur. Simpson at 17 years old at the time, began her career singing in church choirs. The singer signed with Columbia Records in 1997. Sweet Kisses (1999), her debut album, sold two million copies in the US market. The single "I I Want To Love You Forever" was a commercial hit. Simpson's second studio album, Irresistible, was a maturer release. Its title track became Simpson's second-highest charting Billboard Hot 100 entry. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has certified the album as gold. This Skin (2003) was her third studio album. It was a huge success, selling three million copies across America. Simpson's previous career was characterized by her marriage to Nick Lachey. She also appeared on MTV's reality TV show Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica in 2003 and 2005. Simpson's first film appearance as Daisy Duke was made in 2005 following the release of ReJoyce: The Christmas Album (2004). The album was awarded gold certification. The soundtrack to the film also featured an original song called "These boots are made for Walking". Simpson recorded her fifth studio album, A Public Affair, in 2006 and was featured in the romantic comedy film Employee of the month. Simpson started to explore country music in 2008 following the release of her sixth studio album, Do You Know (2008). Aside from her musical pursuits, Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, a fashion focused collection of 34 categories. Since its launch, the brand has earned over $1 billion in revenue and is the most profitable ever licensed by a celebrity. She was also a part of the reality-TV show The Price of Beauty in 2010 and judged fashion designs in two seasons of Fashion Star between 2012 and 2013. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson with whom she has three children.
