Lucy-Liu
Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress, director producer and vocalist. An attractive and intelligent actor, she is an inspiration for numerous Asian actors who want to make it big in Hollywood. After several appearances in television shows that were popular and movies, she gained fame for her role as a character in Ally McBeal legal comedy where she portrayed Ling Woo. After a sudden surge in fame, the actress was offered roles on major screens including Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She then delivered a superb performance as Japanese criminal lord O'Ren Ishii, in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. Around this same time she was also in box-office failures including Rise: Blood Hunter. In the following years, she started voicing characters from animated films such as Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason's part in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen movie, did not bring about the results. A recurring role in the critically-acclaimed police drama Southland has helped her regain recognition as a prominent actress. Liu is very careful in selecting her roles in order that she is not cast in a very competition-driven industry. As much as she loves her culture however, this has not hindered her in her professional work as an artist.
