Taylor

Taylor Swift may be the most unusual of pop stars: an artist who was able to effectively bridge the gap between pop and country music and conquer the world. Swift left her country roots like they were a second skin revealing that she was arguably the smartest popular singer/songwriter in her generation one who could harness the mood of the moment and personalize it and also perform opposite. Swift's early hits, especially the neo celebration of Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. But her 2008 album Fearless showcased a writer who was discovering herself and gaining a huge following. Fearless became hugely popular not only in the US with it's Top Ten singles Love Story and Belong with Me helped it to record six platinum albums but also around the world. It performed particularly well throughout Canada Australia in Australia and Canada. U.K. Speak Now delivered almost two years later and consolidated this success and moved Swift towards the top of fame. The popularity of Swift only grew through her subsequent three albums -- Red (2012) 1989 (2014), and Reputation (2017) and Reputation in 2017 and found her moving assuredly into a realm of pop music that she had already been a part of. She stayed on top of the charts even when she dropped her own style on her sister albums folklore & Evermore in the year 2020.
